As someone who always has access to world class developers, I quite often leave the "how to" and "best approach" of server and code implementation to them, or can call on them when I've got specific questions.  At the same time though, I've always found it very helpful if I can at least talk intellgently on a topic, at least enough that they appreciate I'm not a complete idiot from their code-monkey perspective.  That's why I appreciate this article.  htaccess has, itself, always been a bit of a mystery to me from different angles and I hadn't even been aware you could do this on a Windows server until just recently.
