I think we’ve all been guilty of the onslaught of social media information these past few months. A quick look on Sphinn even shows you how popular the subject has been within the majority of online marketing blog’s.

Semantics. If you are setting up social media profiles that are full of nice keyword driven text links to your content that get indexed as backlinks, or using it as another place to have your content gain a URL (think Squidoo) then it’s SEO. If you are using to directly reach and communicate your message to people who closely fit your target audience profiles, then it’s just online marketing. Social Networks are just a site genre, how you use it can vary. What does it matter, it’s all just Online Marketing, or better yet, Marketing. I’m not sure why we like to get so hung up on terminology, maybe it’s the compulsive geek in all of us (NO, Kirk wore the tunic uniform in episode 32, you are thinking of 31!)
