When it comes to blogs, Google is fast but is baffled by those ever-changing Home Pages. If you agree, how are you handling that?

No connection with Home Pages and First Dates :)
The only disadvantage I can see with this strategy is that, for a blog where all the posts are about a pretty specific topic (unlike my own), having multiple posts on the home page might help the page to show up for a search that two or more posts deal with, whereas just one of those posts might not carry enough weight to achieve that ranking.
Of course, those multiple posts are likely to appear together on an archive page based on date, category or tag, but that page isn't likely to carry the weight of the home page.
Apart from that caveat, I think this makes a lot of sense. It's definitely more user-friendly, since clicking through from a SERP is going to take the user straight to the content they're looking for instead of making them scroll down through the home page to find it.
Well, of course SERP listings of blog root index pages do suck from a searcher's POV, but the blogger can plaster the page with huge ads when the user comes to the home page from a SERP. So, from a marketer's POV I do appreciate this flaw.
