"everything you do will come under scrutiny from someone" I just blogged about this topic today myself. But on a more personal level. Overall, hindsight really is 20/20. We are leaving a permanent stamp on ourselves. Integrity or a lack thereof.
This is ridiculous. Theres no need for these companies to lie. They would command so much more respect if they just came out and said, "Look, were whores and want to raid your wallent when you go to the bathroom to wash up." but instead they think they can pull one over on the public. With all the ways to find out info in this day and age, can anyone wonder if they dont intend to get caught? Otherwise, it means they either understand jack shit about the reality of our existence OR they more than likely let a shit-for-brains make that decision.
I have to disagree with Sam - it all depends (for me anyway) on the context. The Cillit Bang case (& WalMart in the States) were instances where lying# was a stupid thing to do, as the blogs were meant to be authentic. But wit the case of Ugly Billy, its so obviously tongue in cheek, that it wouldnt work unless it pretended to be real.Context, context, context - its the first word that any marketer should consider, no matter the medium.
