...and SEL is going TABLOID! :)

Interestingly enough I believe the original article mentions that his total winnings are 600,000 not 1.2 million as SEL incorrectly states so she’s only suing for 300,000. Which begs the question... why not just link to the original article? It’s not like SEL offered any extra insight.

I’m new around here, but just out of curiosity ... what does this have to do with SEO or Internet marketing? No offense to anyone, but why are these types of submissions made - and allowed - at Sphinn? Sphinn’s tagline is "Internet marketing news & discussion forums". Am I the only one that thinks it’s pretty retarded that a post like this is on the homepage?

@swyper: maybe you should’ve looked a little harder before taking pot shots at Sphinn because a) it’s posted in the "water cooler" which is for off topic and humor and b) It has everything to do with the power of "SEARCH" which is how the wife found the guySheesh

Swyper, like you said: "you’re new around here." FYI the post was bookmarked from Search Engine Land, the industry defining online publication regarding all things search. They also happen to operate this site. Life lesson 101 for immature kids. You should be careful about tossing around phrases like "retarded" which, used in this context, is offensive. After you check the network tab (http://sphinn.com/network.php?sortby=2) to find out who you just called retarded, than I suggest you lurk for a couple of weeks (with your mouth shut) to find out what the hell you’re talking about. Cheers.Others: thanks for the link to the original post and the stats correction. :)

@gamermk, anyone is certainly free to submit the original article to Sphinn. I agree -- we were simply highlighting the article for our readers, and someone Sphunn that. I’ll update the amount, and next time, sure, feel free to submit the article instead, if you want.@swyper, the topic is relevant because while Sphinn is about internet markeitng, it also covers search in general -- and this was a search-related story (she searched for him on Google). It’s a classic example of how search intersect with society. Go back 10 years, and she’d figure out he won the lottery, but not within seconds by doing a search.

And one other thing: if you write a comment on any post from Search Engine Land, you *have* to submit the story to Sphinn. That’s just how both sites are set up.

Someone changed the numbers in that article after I wrote it. :) Anyway, funny story nevertheless.

This story is one reason I am glad my name is so generic. No one will ever be able to track me down on Google thanks to a famous mandolin player and the ex-Dodger first baseman.

@tamar: Could you elaborate more on this *have* to sumbit the story?

@swyperIf you post in this community you better have your comments backed by good info. This crowd will get on you in an instant-as you quickly found out. You’re not the only one to learn that lesson...

In the original article it does not mention Google! It simple says she did an internet search. Please stop making Google the ruler of the internet. We already have to deal with them telling us what we can put on our websites!

Ha, ... Hah, Ha! Completely off topic. More than enough money to dump his loser wife. Nothing Sphinn worthy here, at all.
