Well done Tim, that is very helpful. Danny (or other Mods) - is there going to be an official Sphinn event?More importantly is there a date for Lisa and Robs Wedding yet? I heard the Elvis Chapel is very good and Im sure wed all put in some money for the occasion?http://sphinn.com/story/8980http://www.theelvisweddingchapel.com/
Thanks for putting together the list.It is good to have it all in one place.Microsoft announced their party about a day after I announced the Poker Tournament start time. That is why I moved the start time to 9:00.I am really stoked about the Werewolf tournament too.I heard Yahoo is also having a party, but I dont know when it is.Thanks again for posting this.dk
Hi dk,I put the MS event on the list but you are the only source I have for that one... I saw you changed the start time of the poker tournament to accomodate them but I dont know anything further about their event - can you elaborate on what you heard?Im looking forward to your event! Thanks
Im adding the Sphinn buffet-crawl ( from here http://sphinn.com/story/14645 ) though there isnt a time/day determined yet.
Pinball Hall of Fame anyone?http://www.pinballmuseum.org/http://www.yelp.com/biz/pinball-hall-of-fame-las-vegas
We should definitely do a Sphinn event. Should we try to all get together for lunch, maybe on Wednesday? (Like we did at SES San Jose?) Be sure to ad your name to the Sphinn calendar if youre planning to be there:http://sphinn.com/calendar.php?cal_month=12&cal_day=04&cal_year=2007§ion=single_event&event_id=15That way, we can all look for you. :) Once we get there Tuesday, we can scout out the lunch area and see where a good place would be to meet up. Well have lots of Sphinn stickers like last time, so we can decorate the general area to alert everyone.
Its a good time to update your profiles with contact info (twitter, others) so we can better coordinate lunches / drinks.Start this week by increasing your vitamin C and B complex intake and drink plenty of water daily so you are in good shape for the event!Looking forward to some good times.
Thanks for the comments... most of that info was publicly available at the PubCon site or Facebook but Im hoping that gathering it together will encourage further suggestions and announcements too. At least its all gathered in one place at the moment and Ill keep it up to date as I become aware of any news.Wednesday sounds good for a Sphinn meetup. I look forward to that.
sounds fun - count me in!~Carrie
Good stuff! Now we just need the secret words and locations of the MSN & Yahoo parties. Last year Yahoo had a private party on the roof of ... The Palms?? A lot of people didnt have invites, like we didnt, and most were turned away, like we were. You know, as much money as we spend with them, letting us in a cool vegas party is the least they can do!
We may as well share experiences of "other" things to do in vegas. Maverick helicopter tour of the canyon was awesome... book the half day trip if youre unsure if you want the 3/4 day, and if there are mostly 3/4 day people booked for your flight theyll do the 3/4 with you as a hostage whether you want to or not! Nice champagne stop and excellent choreographed music. Try to get the front seat on the way out. Some of the smaller casinos off the strip are the most fun, least crowded, and payout well. Once youre inside you wont know the difference except for the minimum bids and friendliness of the staff. Palace Station runs a quick shuttle up and down the strip, and I always have fun there.Taxis are required by law to pick up and drop off at hotel entrances, which can mean mandatory waiting in plaza lines. Dont be afraid of the public bus in vegas. It seems everything is a far walk to everything else, and while the first walk down the strip is interesting, it is way more fun to grab the bus for 10 blocks and step off where you want to be. Yes monorail is good, but you dont get the same "flavor" of vegas stopping only at the back doors of the big hotels. Buy a souvenir corkscrew/bottle opener on day 1 and keep it in your room. First opportunity, (pass a liquor store on the way to a restaurant for example) grab a bottle of something to save for later. When youre little party is still going but near your room and its way late and the hotel bar is closed already, you will appreciate the opportunity to kick it back in the room with freinds instead of hiking back out to a casino bar. Be sure to pack that souvenir so it doesnt get confiscated at McCarren.. if youre like me, youll remember the bottle and the company and the conversation for years whenever you see the souvenir.@Natasha any chance youll carry a BigCab with you from NoCal? Ill reciprocate with a Willamette Valley Pinot or a Columbia Valley cab...lemme know!
looks like a great event...

JOHN!!!!Awesome. Unlike that post on your blog, I take if from this thread, that you will be at Pubcon and if that is the case meeting you finally (especially after that near miss at SESSJ) will be the highlight for me! So, John - have BigCab will travel. I dont believe Ive ever had a Williamette Valley Pinot so I look forward to the trade and finally meeting you in person.

WOW, the bloggers event sounds absolutely awesome! I am so excited now!
@Natasha: I almost always travel with one overnight duffle and my laptop shoulder bag, all carry-on. But I also often pick up a wine bottle along the way, as opportunity strikes, and need to carry it forward to another destination. I just roll it up inside some clothes in the middle of the duffle and check the bag for that flight. never had a problem/always glad I did it.
Hey Jill, I agree I am normally into talking a relaxing .... Not much into the hang over in the morning!I am also at the Hilton and will be hanging at the slots maybe we can get a few other spinners and High Rankings members to just enjoy the ringing in our ears of slots and SEO.Slots are a simple algorithm you put money in and nothing comes out except teaser change to make you put it back in and loose it.
O.K. So I accidently deleted the invite from the Microsoft party, but I allready RSVPd.It is on Thursday, at the Palms hotel in the Ghost Bar.I would totally like to have like 40 uninvited people go there with me.This would be the dialouge,Me: We are here for the party, where is the food?Bill: Are you invited?Me: Yep, I RSVPdBill: How about them?Me: They are with me.Bill: noMe: YesBill: noMe: o.k. guys lets rollBill: byeMe: bye

Hi all, Thanks to Elmer for pointing me to Sphinn. Always nice to meet new people. I work with the Rubicon Project and a few of us are arriving on Tuesday to hang out and meet people. I have no idea what to expect and only personally know a handful of people going. Id love to meet up with folks for dinners or drinks or what have you. Well be doing a few fun things ourselves but really we want to hang out and meet fine folks like you all. Whats the best way to connect up with Sphinners? You all sounds like a fun, active bunch.Best,Nicolenicole (at) rubiconproject (dot) com
