VERY handy spreadsheet. Another gem from Simon.
Nice! But if I was him, I wouldve put my URL or direct link into that logo and protected the cell. Great find Chris.
Then what use would it be Kelena? You could hardly show a client the report with another company logo on it.
It gives credit where credits due and helps Shimon promote his brand. Not everybody who will download the s/sheet will re-brand it as their own. Not everybody will use it for clients. And if this travels virally, persons who receive it from others might like to know who Shimon is.
Kalena, if I do not want to give credit, I just remake the file if it was protected that way, people have done this for ages. It should have a page in it about who this is from, why it is there etc as an about page. But anyhow, while this is a nice spreadsheet template, you would never really work professionally with something handfilled like this but rather use pivot tables or even olap tools for this. This is an inspiration on how to set up your result pages.Additional point why it will get remade anyhow: It is a $ based which is not usuable over here for example. :)
Nicole - You are dead wrong about this not being used professionally. I know for certain that Search firms/Agencies like Universal McCann, Avenue A, and 360i use a similar spreadsheet. I am willing to bet they have much more experience & more demanding clients than you. And, to address your endorsement of pivot tables...that is old school for bid mgmt, and furthermore you need to populate the pivot table with data before you can manipulate it. The spend & conversions do not magically appear in your pivot table. There are better, and more sophisticated tools like Omniture Search Center, Atlas, Search Ignite, etc that do much more than you can accomplish with pivot tables.
Great content Shimon. Very useful for reference.
Thanks for the direct link at the top Chris. kudos
