It quite a phenomenon that people think just doing X, Y or Z will change the world for the better. There are always "equal and opposite" reactions in an equilibrium and these always end up being classified as "unintended consequences."  The result is the formation of whole new "cottage industries" whose goal is to "solve" these new problems.

Whole lineages of professions are based on "necessities" that are due to the fallout from so much unconscious behavior.
