He he... and that's gonna be it for me really. I have been getting HAMMERED via DM/IM today from peeps far and wide. Get over it folks! As mom would say, "How do you know if you like it if you've never even tried it?" - m'kay!
Thanks Mike... I'd vote on it, but what's the point? Snicker... if it is worthy the staffers will bump it... (we're not worthy?)
Bump.

That's the spirit boys... inhale... exhale... ohmmmm ohmmm...

So sad to see spin going away. Time to join digg in the gabage can. Actually DIGG found out after hitting the bottom of the garbage can - that the bottom is rusted out so you can DIGG deeper into the dirt. Hey, even the bury brigade is gone.I remember when spin was a happening place, but they started to make changes to a winning game. It grew worse. Well here comes the last straw now. Taking away users right to vote on stories and making it $#@+
It hasn't even happened yet, so how do you now it's now going to be crap? We're all so happy that you have so much faith in the editors here. Thanks a million.

Lol... and you just breath there too Jill. Don't take it personal, even if it feels that way. I am pretty sure we're going to have supporters and detractors on this. Tis the way of the world. Ultimately everyone will just have to wait and see what happens. Bitching nor praising means very little at this point IMO. :)
Not taking it personally at all, Dave. In fact, I find the outcry highly amusing. Everyone's true colors start to show when you take away something that wasn't theirs to begin with. (And that they rarely used anyway except for self-promotion/free links.)
It's heeelarious!
Bottom line, IMO, is that this site doesn't belong to any of us. So the decision, good or bad, isn't ours to make. How many of us would expect our blog readers or site visitors to try demanding that we let them decide how we should handle our content? Not many, I'd wager.
A very good example of why not to give a baby a piece of candy. ;) Let's give the thing a chance, folks.

I have a forum and I allow people to be critical of me. That said, I do not allow spam. It contributes nothing to the forum. I believe in democracy and voting. Look at the difference between South Korea and Noth Korea.
Well, I manage a community as well and I most certainly big on qualitative data from the members. That being said though, I still reserve the right to managem my affairs as I see fit at the end of the day. I am the one making the invesment and inherent risk. People have ALWAYS been critical of Sphinn. And the staff do actually listen at the very least. After that, it is up to them to decide what is best for their site. I for one MUST respect that. Ya know?
