I sure hope Google Analytics is going to do this natively, somehow. We shouldn't have to do something like this. These are search strings; Google Analytics should report on them naturally.

I don't believe this is correct--you'll note that when you click on results, you get redirected to another Google URL and THEN passed through to the site of your preference.The oq parameter will never show up as it will not be in the URL you clicked on which is the referring URL.

I won't desphinn this because the idea is sound, just that the assumption of the referring URL is wrong.

I have noticed a 27% drop in traffic already from the main search engine. This is hitting us hard in the long tail and then some.

I spent ages trying to see the same parameters they were seeing.

Google should never pass the original query, it is a significant privacy risk.
