Darren Rowse follows up on last week's debate with a post detailing his approach to balancing SEO and social media as a blogger. His bottom line: it depends what your goals are, who your target audience is, etc. Agreed.

A key takeaway from that article is the importance of email newsletters.

He said his biggest traffic days are newsletter days, which I can attest to as well. I also agree with what he said about search engine traffic feeding newsletter sign-ups, the newsletter promoting hte social media accounts, the social media then generates links which keeps things going full circle.

It's a beautiful approach when carried out effectively.
