Twice hitting digg home page in a week!
Open letter to Kevin Rose: Close down Digg! It sucks anyways. Mixx will prevail. Go home and concentrate on more promising projects like Pownce.
Bravo Jeff!!
Dont know about you guys but as someone who loves Digg still, i dont get the hostility. I understand that they might screw some people up. On one of my own advertising campaigns a month ago they banned one of my sites for not using original content and yet all is originally written by my own hired writers on only MY payroll! We appealed to them and they unbanned the site. I know this is a pain to some but to complain about the site ( and I know the bias that is there as well) and want it shut is a little extreme. Thats like my own complaints and many here on Google and pagerank. I still love Google but see that no one should rely only on any one company or service. As for that Mixx site I commented elsewhere on this and so has some of the members that we have on my own site earthfrisk.com Mixx is only pligg with very minor changes. Pligg powers this site and is open source just like the origin of my favorite fun site EF. The only difference is all of this talk of some mass exodus from Digg is ridiculous. i love Digg, dont see any mass exodus and before I go to this mixx site I might as well stay on my own EF since it has many more divisions and features than Mixx even now. I like what Dosh ( Maki) said on this in the other thread. Digg is an awesome site and I agree.
@ Lodispoto - I dont think Ive shown any hostility toward Digg. Quite the opposite. I understand completely that there are always other factors at play beyond our knowledge, and any company growing as quickly as Digg is bound to experience many many issues. I merely wanted to be a part of the solution, not the problem. While there have been many really hostile comments, and theyre certainly unwarranted, keep in mind that Digg is known for these type of comments. That said, there are things they could do, such as employ someone like a Matt Cutts to appease the top diggers.Agreed though ... Digg is a keeper. Thanks for the comment Lodispoto!
Hi Jeff, my comment wasnt directed at you. I also linked to your article in my response. You seem to be one of the good guys. If I ever meet you in person my treat to a beer ( at the least).
