Criminals are all they are but what if your call falls on deaf ears? About 6 months ago one of my webmasters told me that the site she maintains was ripped off by copying our about us page word for word. My ex wife wrote that page in front of me years ago and we can prove we were out there first. (Wayback Machine) What the result was though after complaining the company just laughed, and Yahoo actually took us out of the searc hresults for 3 months! Check this out and tell me if these peopel are criminals - the one I own is the successfulloffice.com one and look how these idiots stole word for word. My site - http://www.successfuloffice.com/about.htmCopycat criminalshttp://www.answercustomer.com/about-us.htmIf this isnt copyright theft i dont know what is. I get a good laugh out of it and just think that its flattering. But when you have like 60 sites in various industries and you see 5 or more being robbed monthly, and you pay a whole slew of writers to create your content, it gets upsetting. Blatant plagirism is the worst and this little about us page that my ex wife wrote really is ridiculous for this other site.
It does get up setting. And worse it is a big time drain on a small company like mine trying to fight with these people.I would rather be writing more content then dealing with people that are too lazy to do it themselves.I spoke with others about the site ClarkCountyRentals.com and come to find out the 3 others sites have been ripped off from them and have filed complaints with Google. So why is Google not at least shutting down their adsense account?
Update to the story:After they took down the content I email and thanked them for the quick response and then asked them why.Their reply was I stole one of their clients. Hmm, that was not the answer I expected.
Thats better than the complete ignore that I got from that Go4 site, run out of India. Im gald it worked for you. I think that though at times we have to look the other way and just be flattered. As long as we arent being robbed of revenue as I think you were.
Wow, youre way nicer than I am about these sorts of things.Ive filed a DMCA notice first and then gave them until 5pm to take it off or except my lawyer to start action at 8am the next morning. It was down by 3pm!It was pretty nasty what they did though and I wasnt in the mood to play games.
