A flurry of recent articles are bemoaning Google's decline. But is the decline real, or just relative to a mythical Golden Age of Google perfection that never existed. Your comments, and evidence either way, are greatly appreciated.

I don't think one should look for evidence of google's decline in the performance of it's search engine. Decline will begin when it stops being able to attract and keep the best programmers.

I hear the odd story about talent creep from Google to Facebook but nothing to suggest that this is a huge problem yet.
