Well now that Threadwatch is gone, I know a bunch of us marketers are looking for a place to fill the gap. My bet is that Sphinn has the best chance. It gets away from the tired old forum and blog format and gives us a Social Media style outlet were we can interact a little bit more without getting editing out.

I’d quite like Sphinn to be something entirely new. Sphinn, I think, has the chance to act as a great filter of loads of Search:Social stories. Threadwatch required a degree of commitment. I hope Sphinn will appeal to those who want to join the community and also work for those who only have time to make a flying visit!

I was actually thinking the same thing when I started digging around Sphinn today, plus the timing is perfect with people looking for an alternative to fill the gap left by ThreadWatch.

you never want to be the new "britney", "madonna" or "threadwatch" for that matter. You want to be your own thing, or else you are forever doomed to remain in it’s shadow suffering comparisons.

Don’t be daft lad. Threadwatch had an edge, it was hardcore. This is more fluffy and useful in a different way. It may connect people to stories who would not normally be connected. Threadwatch had an air of the "Biker Bar" about it, with people getting their head stamped on regularly, sometimes deservedly. First thoughts, I’m loving it. Although some SEO’s really need help writing headlines. No names, but you know what I mean.

You can’t blame SEOs for not being able to right headlines... you know we are trained to take out the stop words! lol

This won’t be TW - that was cool but a little too hostile at times - not that I ever bore the brunt of anything...

Actually I thought your headline was ok, I’m reading it. So it worked.

That’s right Lyndon - they don’t call me Matt ’Headliner’ Crouch for nothing. But ’Danger’ is still my middle name.

Interesting... Sphinn is the new Threadwatch... Maybe John Andrews was onto something after all.... http://www.johnon.com/330/threadwatchcom.html

Sounds a bit conspiracy theory-ish to me. It’s more like coincidence and good timing.

Sphinn is my new Threadwatch (which I really do miss).
