Lyndon Antcliff does a great job of debunking the idea that link building is some sort of black magic shrowded in secrecy.Newsflash: The strategies and tactics that work out there for the taking (via blog posts, Twitter, conferences, etc) so success is mostly about hard work.

There is a lot of snake oil in the SEO world.  Link building is hard work. It is even harder if your site really does not deserve to be there. Link building is a lot easier if you have an intereting website and offer something differnt than eveybody else. Google was designed around that concept.

I agree that link building is hard work. There is so much to wade through on the internet. Quality link building is more difficult than just link building. I'm constantly amazed at how many social media sites are out there and how many bloggers. Link building is essential ecommerce and yet there is still too much junk to wade through when choosing quality links.
