Bounce rate...can surely a way to measure your site's performance. However, one thing that I strongly feel that a web markter has a little control over site's reach. With extra, and 'unwanted' exposure on social bookmarking sites, it is very much natural to have a huge bounce rate. And if you really wish to market it to the specific target audience, then I guess it needs to be done with lot of home work...
