SEO is simple at the core and complex at the edges. If you got a healthy site, you can afford to ignore alot of the complexities and still generate thousands of hits/day. I know people who are literally clueless about SEO and still pull over 80,000 Google traffic per day. If your site is sick, on the other hand, you may need to take out the scalpels.
