Over the last year I have really noticed an increase in the time it takes Google to index pages, specifically articles and blog posts. Pages being indexed used to take days and then hours and now I am noticing minutes. This is without being logged into my Google Account.

Certain types of sites can be very fast indeed.
Google has been indexing our primary blog post in less than 10 minutes for the past month (in the main index!). Forget Page Rank gang ... its a trust thing. Just wondering if they indexed the last one :)
Ive noticed this too. Surprisingly the Google Blogsearch seems to have gone to the dogs, since the same post that can rank highly in the regular Web search is sometimes not to be found in Blogsearch
bwelford I find the opposite to be true.
I just had a new site indexed in well under a day. Thats a new record in my experience. I also agree that Google Blogsearch has become fairly useless. Its also fairly full of spam.
I totally agree - the more temporal stuff is no surprise; they sort of suggested it would come. But my last non-temporal entertainment site seemed to be indexed within a few hours. That was cool.
The summary of this post says: "I have really noticed an increase in the time it takes Google...." - what I meant when I wrote it was "Decrease" and it has been updated in the actual article.
I am noticing rapid indexing but of only a select few of my posts.
