The Guardian says that "update Florida" happened in Christmas 2004. But Florida happened in November 2003. Who fed The Guardian bad dates? Fess up. :)

If that’s the UK "Guardian" newspaper then be aware they are known to the masses as "Teh Grauniad", due to their long history of spelling, grammar, and factual errors over the years.Indeed, when there was some sort of explosion near their building I believe a rival newspaper had "BNAG!" in the sound bubble above the building shown in the cartoon drawing of the event.

Searching Google for "Google update Florida" returns a date of November 16th, 2003 (right in the snippet), but that was probably too much work. :)

Matt,Now that "update Florida" is history. Would you be kind to tell us; what exactly happened during that update? Is it true that you had applied the first "Anti-SEO" filter in humankind history? ;-)

ok, ya’ll know yer search geeks when this kind of trivia gets play. Speaking of broad statements, I like this one in the post;’The founders of Google never realised how commercial the net would become’... that one certainly caught my eye. I bet ya didn’t know S&B were myopic did ya?

I wonder what is coming or I doubt it already happened this year, We all know that something or the other happens at this time of the year. Any Tips Matt:) I had one of my client effected( I dont know for sure why), I discussed with Matt and he doubt that there is something to do with the Data Center. And Danny also said that He never heard of anything like this. The site which i am talking about is www.actionquest.com the problem with this site is at the begining of the every month the Rankings goes up for the keywords and at the end of the month the rankings drops. I wrote the URL down in that little magic book of Matts where he always carries. Waiting to see some kind of solution or the problem itself. I know last year I had one problem with a Local listings and Matt had it solved in a weeks after informing in the Pub con 2006. Wonder if anyone else have seen somthing like this as well. I doubt that this is something similar to the Florida update ???Thank youSuresh

seosureshI don’t wish to turn Matt’s post to a site review post. Sorry, Matt."....,but recently like 3 months before in August they did a Redesign."It seems the said site is still under redesign process. For example they have removed the following footer from several pages after 7th - 10th December 2007. ============ActionQuest is not a traditional teenage summer camp. We offer adventure training programs for teenagers and specialize in sailing, scuba diving, community service, waterskiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, hiking, trekking, snorkeling and island exploration, as well as many other adventure sports and activities. Accredited marine science, tropical marine biology and oceanography programs camps are also offered, specifically for teenagers who are interested in learning more about the tropical marine biology. Our biggest summer adventure programs are in the Caribbean’s British Virgin Islands where teenagers live together aboard 50-foot sailing yachts and sail within a flotilla. We also offer programs for teens in the Caribbean Leeward Islands, Australia, the Galapagos Islands, Tahiti, and the Mediterranean. Each location offers a unique adventure program experience for teenagers 13-19 grouped by age. All of our teen summer camps are co-ed, non-competitive, and, with over 30 years of experience in adventure programs, we attract close to 450 teens to our international sailing and scuba camps every year. If you are ready for something new, a summer adventure program unlike any teen summer camp you have ever been to, ActionQuest will provide an experience of a lifetime, guaranteed. No other summer camp or adventure program can offer instruction, trips, camps or adventures for teens to the level and quality of ActionQuest. We invite you to browse through our website for a wealth of information regarding our teen sailing, teen diving, and adventure expeditions. When you’re ready to make your life extraordinary, give us a call and chat in person, contact some students who have sailed with us in the past and enroll in one of our unique programs.====================================================================

3 thoughts:1. If I sphin every post matt submits, will Matt like me better and do me favors?2. Is this thread looking just like a Matt’s Blog thread, and is that a GoodThing?3. I doubt the Guardian would have gotten so much attention if it published the correct date!

johnandrews"1. If I sphin every post matt submits, will Matt like me better and do me favors?"YES..YES. Matt would like you much for that and would give a boost to your sites PageRank..and would make ALL your sites pages rank at top 10 of Google’s serps. And.. Matt would invite you to visit him at Googleplex and give you one of his fancy T-Shirts with motto "Matt Cutts Makes Me Google" :-)"2. Is this thread looking just like a Matt’s Blog thread, and is that a GoodThing?"No it doesn’t look like Matt’s blog thread. And thats a bad thing ;-)"3. I doubt the Guardian would have gotten so much attention if it published the correct date!"Agreed!

*** ...PageRank (a credibility score out of 10 Google gives to each site it indexes)... ***Pffft. PageRank is measured on a URL, not site, basis.
