A great post discussing some issues Google may be having with Universal search, and the possible implications.

I hope they continue to move forward with this. If anything, I’ve paid closer attention to including photos in articles and posts, and as a result have more attractive content and more image related traffic.

I am a big fan of Universal/Blended Search. At least the idea of it. It’s still in its infancy and of course not perfect, well, nowhere near, but you’ve got to give Google and others a chance to experiment (and even fail!), even in a live situation. I am hoping this is just the beginning of development. I don’t want to have 10 text results as standard in the SERPs in a years time. Surely we have all moved on and while it may take a while for the SE’s to catch up don’t you want them to?

I can’t say that I am a fan as of yet.  There hasn’t been an instance when they have shown me a news article from the wire that i have actual used those results.  The same goes with the pictures.  But what can I say I am kind of a tradtionalist when it comes to the SERPs
