My rebuttal to ’A Career In SEO? Bad Move,’ over at http://sphinn.com/story/19137. A lot of good points, but I love this industry, and am very happy because of it. I wouldn’t want anyone to not take part.

I’m going to have to agree with the "good move" camp here.  SEO/SEM can only truly die if the internet dies, and I’m pretty sure it will last a while.  Also, online marketing can be a nice starting place for people who may want to move on to other forms of marketing/ advertising.  Online analytics of your SEM campaigns can give all kinds great insight to your target audience, that print/tv/radio ads have to jump through hoops with focus groups to get.  Keep truckin’ SEO rookies, I think you’re making the right move!
