It’s nice to see the link to the original post-not the SEL article, which was very good in itself. Good job Marty. Tamar would be proud.

However, it was already posted: http://sphinn.com/story/18994Very good article, though.Interesting that you’ve already gotten more sphinns than I did, even though I posted it some 30 hours before you. I bet there’s something worth studying there.

How does that happen?

Well, the only differences in the titles is that you’ve got "rumble" in all caps, and (I think this probably makes a difference) you left the fact that it’s from the NYT in there. Then there are our relative positions in the Top Sphinners list (you’re way above me), and I’m guessing you’ve got a longer friends list. The CMS would have caught that the URL had already been submitted, but the NYT adds a bunch of unnecessary parameters to their URLs based on where you came from. I deleted that from the URL, leaving http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/16/technology/16goog.html?_r=1 whereas yours is http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/16/technology/16goog.html?ex=1355461200&en=51443a66d6584dc2&ei=5088&partner=rssnyt&emc=rssIt’d be nice if the system could see that those two URLs point to the same document, but as I’m not a developer, I have no idea how to make that happen.

When you look at the "upcoming" list, you see the newer posts first. It’s generally that simple.
