Nice idea, but it fails when you claim your blog as http://sebastians-pamphlets.com (without trailing slash) and then perform URL canonicalization redirects that add the trailing slash. It seems Technorati cant handle the 301s and counts only a few invalid links, if any at all:http://www.technorati.com/blogs/sebastians-pamphlets.com
Sebastian -That would not be a problem with this technique then, it would be a problem with your redirects and the way you claimed your blog.Assuming most bloggers dont have a redirect away from the URL claimed, this technique works great. Ive actually used it for a long time...
My point is that a clueless submission fucks things up. IOW I failed badly. Pinging Technorati with blogs that link works great, Ive automated that BTW.
Here is a tool to submit all linking blogs with one click, kinda Technorati cluster ping orgy:http://sphinn.com/story/19626BTW, two hours after submitting my first comment Technorati sent me an email and told me theyve fixed it. Now they find my blog and Ive Technorati reputation too. Nice attitude.
Google alerts deliver relatively fresh mentions, and link searches in blog search come with RSS feeds.
