These are good guidelines, but I still hunt down names with type-in traffic whenever possible.
Good points but from a straight domaining standpoint, I agree with rob on the type-in traffic point."Avoid foreign words"Unless youre targeting a foreign market. One word generic foreign word domains still get a ton of type-in and are worth a lot.
Well not foreign words per se, but rather the ones that might difficult the spelling."Avoid foreign words, words that have complex pronunciation, strange combinations of letters and anything else that might cause someone to misspell your address."
Ah, I took that line as three seperate things. Correct then...multiple letters in any language for type-in gets confusing. Owning all of them is a good tactic though.
Good advice guys! I detest having to think about the proper spelling of a word that I havent used in some time. I want quick and easy results.
@ TheMadHat ... well have to talk to our buddy TheGypsy then for his choice of domains for his personal blog ... I still cant remember how to spell it (humoah, humah ... ah I give up). Lets see ... I can find it from SEObytheSeas blogroll.
@jeffquipp - LOL...I have the same problem everytime. I start with the "h" hoping that it will autofill the address bar :)
