Could use some more indepth details and specifics. 

Generous with their money: you can sponsor university/college condoned events where your donation includes a link.  Search Google for things like site:yourfavourite.edu "corporate sponsors" for example.  Drop $500 and you've got yourself a link.

College newspapers are frequently published...and archived permanently.  Take out a classified ad with your URL in it.  Or make a donation and ask that they publish something briefly in their paper.

yeah, yeah, not the cleanest of ideas.

Generous with your time: Compile some data related to your industry.  Do a study.  Historical trends are always nice, take some work but you get yourself some unique information (did prices go up?  or down?  or stay the same?  Doesn't matter - you've got data!).  Then do some link begging to profs who are in the industry.
