Nevertheless, Hilton expressed anger at YouTube for sending him a standard, generic e-mail informing him of his account’s violation and temporary shutdown. Don’t they know who he is? They should, his YouTube videos generate millions of views, according to him. Doesn’t he rate at least a phone call? In his farewell video, Hilton tells his fans he probably won’t be posting any more videos to YouTube and that neither should they. Dis.

The automated solutions of viacom and YouTube backfired on both of them, starting a very nasty, very public dispute.

i guess i'm getting old. who is perez hilton? i thought it was bad enough having the paris h in the news nonstop....now there's another one?

Perez is one of the top celeb gossip bloggers, with huge amounts of traffic, and online ad revenue. He was also one of the few people selected to be included in the trial of YouTube's advertising program.

The G properties always pick and choose on how they reach out to certain companies/sites - this was probably a dangerous one to run through the grind, esp. with how popular Perez Hilton is today. But hey, maybe this is to help us pretend everyone is equal to them...
