There are all kinds of ways to comply with even Google’s most recent stance on paid reviews, unless you are never allowed to give an editorial link to a site that has previously paid you for a 50 word review.

The whole paid links fiasco has taken a turn for the worse with this "statement" from Matt. When is it going to get to the point where we go back to the days when webmasters, publishers and bloggers are too scared to link out at all?
