I am honestly tired on how Google makes it easy to report spam and paid links in Google Webmaster Central but AdSense makes you go through hoops to report stolen content.

To report an AdSense account stealing content, you need to file a DMCA request. To do so, you need to print out legal documents, take screen captures, fax the details over with a signed DMCA document and then wait.

A simple report in the AdSense Console can make this much quicker. Oh, maybe Google is in no rush to remove spam pages that they make money from? ;-)

I left a comment on your blog, but just click on "Ads by Google" and on the landing page, click the link at the bottom of the page that says "Send Google your thoughts on the site or the ads you just saw". Fill out that form to report issues, including copyright issues or spam.

It's good to know there's a reporting mechanism, but the amount of effort required to police scrapers would leave little time for blogging. It's time-intensive to locate the stolen posts, and nearly impossible once they've been translated into other languages.

I'm glad you brought this up because it caused Matt to leave us that note - which I think warrants another post if you haven't already. Good looking out.

Matt, it's not that simple. Someone at Google isn't informing you properly, despite that you obviously try to be honest. I've tried twice, even with digital proof, and the AdSense team makes it as difficult as possible. I don't have a printer or fax at home and no car to get to the nearest Office Depot. For me to "properly" launch a complaint to Google about scrapers stealing my content and publishing their Adsense code would be a great deal of difficulty on my part.

Google benefits from thieves running adsense, so why make it easy for legitimate content owners to complain?
