Inbound links are clearly an indicator. All indications are that you can revamp your Panda slapped site til you're blue in the face, but without new external validation, it won't be enough to rebound fully.
Alan - did you just say something nice about links? BTW in addition to quality links, we think the ads to content ratio is a pretty big factor too.
