I think it's pretty lame that all those backlinks he accrued now go to tools you need to pay for. And imho, SEOmoz's premium content is more valuable.

Well having developed tools myself, they are a lot of work for a few backlinks. You're definitely giving more than you get back, dev time and making them work at volume is not easy. I can understand why Jim has put them into the members section. I know he also wanted to seriously upgrade the public tools, and as Rand realised, putting them into a premium section was the best way. That extra level of exclusivity also makes them work far better for those with access.

On the tools side I can see why you are comparing SEOmoz and Jim's program but I think you're missing the point on the videos? Jim has got some of the brightest people in the industry to contribute to this. Forget a 15min conference introduction to the subject, you can catch Bill Slawski or Todd Malicoat giving you the lowdown for 2hrs each.

I think the tools are useful for those that don't have their own, but the videos offer hour upon hour of practical advise. Shoemoney, Aaron Wall, Jim and Todd alone are worth the price.

I'm going to have to write a paid review about this program by next week, and I don't have access to the good stuff, so this article will come in handy.
