GreyWolf Says: "Most CMS systems today are capable of generating clean URL’s. Unless dealing with newspapers or magazines where existing legacy systems it’s almost a non issue. However I came across two incredibly horrible URL’s in the same day"

I have terrible habit of submitting long URLs. A real problem trying to fit them on pages like in MyblogLog and other sites
@SpostareDuro: Knowing you have a problem is a great place to start. :) Nice to meet you in this thread.
I always knock off parameters, especially those that look like they do nothing, one at a time, and see if the same content is still displayed. In very long URLs, usually only one or two actually control the content that is displayed. The rest are just exposing mechanisms that should not be exposed to the outside world.
Yup
Short and clean URLs are good for search engine indexing, a search engine usualy will not crawl long URLs unless the site has a strong presence online (like a newspaper site).
