I'll go first with an SEO book recommendation: I'm a big fan of "SEO: An Hour a Day" by Jennifer Grappone and Gradiva Couzin. I think it takes a great approach for small business owners to learn and tackle the various processes and elements of good SEO.

On the industry/non-tactical side, I'm looking forward to reading Ken Auletta's book, "Googled," and still need to buy Steven Levy's "In the Plex."

For PPC, I highly recommend Advanced Google AdWords by Brad Geddes.

While not directly related to the topics above, I'm currently reading "Hey, Whipple, Squeeze This: A Guide to Creating Great Advertising" which has been recommended to me several times on learning what makes an ad great (which is pretty crucial in PPC :P).

I also have In The Plex in my to read list as well, pretty excited about that one.

My two favorite SEO books are The Art of SEO by Eric Enge, Rand Fishkin, Stephan Spencer, and Jessie Strichiolla and Seach Engine Optimization Secrets by Danny Dover.  The Art of SEO offers a great overview of SEO, especially from a technical perspective.  SEO Secrets, on the other hand, is one of the only books on the market to approach SEO from the agency/freelancer perspective, which is a great angle, and one that I think most of us would prefer to the small business owner angle that most SEO books seem to take.

(I don't mean to be such an SEOmoz fanboy, but I really do think that both Rand & crew as well as Danny put out the two best books on the market.)

As far as analytics, Web Analytics 2.0 by Avinash Kaushik is the best book on the market.  The author's name alone will probably convince most people of that fact, but it really is a good look into analytics.  He has a beginner book called Web Analytics: An Hour a Day, but Web Analytics 2.0 is a much stronger and more advanced title, in my opinion.

As far as PPC, I am partial to the Ultimate Guide to Google AdWords.  It kind of comes off as a sales pitch in certain parts, but it's a great title, altogether.

I'm currently reading AdWords Quality Score in High Resolution by Craig Danuloff, the founder of ClickEquations.  While it is not as all encompassing as some of the other worthwhile books previously mentioned here, it is very thorough and actionable.

My favorite "core" SEO book is "Search Engine Optimization." I highly recommend the print version because the graphics are what help make everything so understandable. There's a more theoretical book that gets into the psychology and future of search that I found really inspiring: Search Patterns by Morville & Callender. It's meant for search engine designers, but the principles are useful for anyone who wants to get under the hood of the role search plays in information access and management.

Favourite book for SEO for me is Made to Stick by Chip and Dan Heath. It's not directly about SEO at all but it will teach you to create content that can give your site social media presence and links (the hardest part of SEO).
