I was telling an econ prof how all these Web 2.0 sites have a business plan like get a user base (web 2.0 jargon for dotcom crash eyeballs), then put ads up. Jane at SEOmoz rips em a new one:

"I do not think that I have become all that much more cynical in the past twelve months, but I now simply cannot see many of these websites lasting for very much longer. Over the past two days, I have looked at literally hundreds of websites that do absolutely nothing."
