Do you think the search engines are going to start to use OCR as well? I heard Google has invested in some OCR company.Aside from that... do you think EXIF and IPTC properties might be something also important in the future.Google already has the "Face Parameter" in image search but it still has not gone public but you can already try in by adding this to the image search result URL:&imgtype=faceSo optimization might be even more than that in the future. Also in Google Webmaster Tools, you can choose the option to have your images searched and optimize more.
I really wish somebody would publish some evidence to support these ideas. I ran some tests about half a year ago, and didnt find that file name or alt attribute made much difference if any.
As far as I see, the face parameter is public, besides the news parameter in "Advanced Image Search".(Content types - Return images that contain - any content | news content | faces)
Google did bought some similar company to do the same.....they also tried buying www.riya.com a image search engine.....
