A light post, but the sentiment is dead on. Employees who are compensated based on the company’s growth will always work harder to grow it. I wish Pratt would have added a little bit about employee stock as well though. ;-)

I left this comment on the blog as well:Not to be negative, but I’m fairly sure that Harvard’s research on this subject, described here - http://www.joelonsoftware.com/articles/fog0000000070.html - showed that in fact the opposite is true - incentive-based salaries have an overall negative effect on productivity and effectiveness.
