Wow, Marty, I have to say I am impressed with this piece on social media and community participation. Thank you.

You know, the most impressive thing in that article is Marty’s ability to admit that he just didn’t understand a point of criticism, and made the effort to "get it" instead of just plowing along heedless.  The best part of social media is that the community is a built-in reality check.  Good stuff.

Nice piece Marty. I’d love to know if there’s generational differences between those who think nothing of asking for sphinns and votes vs those who can’t bring themselves to ask and feel an unsolicited peck is more genuine.

@Tamar: Thank you *feelings*@kat: That is so insightful and sweet.@cre8pc: Terrific question...I think there is a difference. Kids are more entitled by far. Thank you for engaging and for being a friend.

Without doubt one of the best articles on the subject I’ve read. Top work, fella.

At Marty’s post I picked up the following: "You can’t own a social community without understanding them".  It takes time, but rewarding once you get to know people, who know what they are talking and sharing and have own identity, trust and contibution in the community.
