Anyone can get crap links to a crap site. But why expend the effort if it's not likely to help your cause? The challenge is obtaining QUALITY links that will help a site rank, no matter how crappy it is. Here's how to do it.

Good points all. But even if it were a crap post, I'd spinnn just for the "Celebrities who are likely to choke on their own vomit hold some potential," line.

"They were the most successful womanizers I had ever met. I asked them how they did it and their response was that they simply had to work harder, and work at it on a regular basis."

Yeah, but if you invest a little time turning a crap site into a not-so-crappy site, you can work less, play harder. Besides, "ugly" is like bad web design (plentyoffish and Webmasterworld comes to mind). Just because a site is ugly doesn't mean its crap as long as its functional. Dancing better, reading books, perfecting the art of listening - those all add to the overall package.

So you have a choice of swimming upstream or taking the path of least resistence. My advice? Don't put the cart before the horse. Even if you don't have a decent "product" (aka website) to push, go ahead and market it if you want but don't expect miracles.
