We've all been there.
My class of '87 reunion is this month. I'm not interested enough to travel 650 miles. But I did learn through social networks that our class spent the entire reunion budget on the 10th reunion which I didn't even get an invite to attend. So at least my classmates have heard of facebook and classmates.
My wife still doesn't really know what I do for a living:.)
I have given up trying to explain what I do to my friends and family....."Internet Marketer" or, when they really give me the blank stare, "I work with computers," will usually end the conversation lol.
When asked by a family member or clergy "So what exactly do you do" I say :
"Did you ever go to Google and search for something, and the perfect web page pops up right at the top in front of your face? I put it there."
When asked by someone on the other side of the desk (car salesman, tax auditor, bouncer) I say:
"Did you ever go to Google to search for something, and the first ten spots are really slick, hard-sell web pages that practically hypnotize you into taking out your credit card for stuff you don't really need? I put those there."
:-) C'mon folks, if you liked it, VoteItUp! ------>
heck...I have a hard time explaining it to the class of 2000!
Nice Article.
But, I'll confess, I sphunn it because of your ELEPHANT! That's just an awesome logo. I love it. We've got a polar bear on ours. Sorry if this is silly, but I was really excited by the elephant :)

Try describing it to potential dates. Their eyes glaze right over.
We are all like Chandler out of friends - no-one understand what we do, even our friends & family...
I'm from the class of '87 and my husband runs an SEO/SMO business out of our home... of course he is from the class of '95 so the theory still holds true LOL
