With certain linking strategies under fire and others frowned on by the search engines, I thought I’d focus on what links do count and share how and where I find them. The short answer to the question "what works" is: they all do.

Great article! NoFollow sucks but 99.9% of the time you get your traffic from the links not from the search placement.

Nice current article written on the state of link building in the market.  I have seen large budgeted companies spend money on large networks of PR0 linbound link websites and still reign supreme with competitive keywords.  In the long run the white hat approach allows you not to worry about Google modification overnight.

I agree, the article seems to be hinting at a simpler time when links were important to users not search engines.  Good Job I agree it boils down to linking good content for your users regardless of what the search engines think.
