I see Tyfus, one of the band members has made this statement on StumbleUpon -- "Brave troll warriors rejoice! The SEO brigade has made a victim among those who lament their practices and influence on StumbleUpon. This is a great way of making people respect your 'profession.' Running to the feds for a word on a website, shows you have balls."

@nsmseo - yes, Tyfus has made a comment. But, what is really strange is that it was a thumbs down and now it has changed to a thumbs up. I'm wondering if after thinking about it he has chosen to leave the crap comment, but change it to a thumbs up so he can keep himself from being kicked off... who knows. But, I found it pretty interesting.

i'm in the same boat -- i'm not targeted for spamming. i'm constantly targeted by these same people as you because i'm popular. i don't visit their sites, i don't provoke them, and yet they constantly find ways to attack me. i have documented in great detail the last time they did it, this time they're on the warpath again and i already submitted my request to SU (who never does anything about it) to make it stop but they created an alter [SIMILAR TO SU NAME] which is clearly a harassment alter (it's rated x but they are basically telling me i should kill myself (although i've gotten much more explicit threats in the past, all documented still on my computer from the same people).
no one here on SU will ever HELP me, yet i refuse to go away just because i'm someone they mess with whenever they get bored.
how did you get the help you needed to get this person removed? uncertain and tyfus were two of my tormentors, but i have some even worse ones than they are, and it's just hell.
please tell me what to do, i've invested two years here and i hate letting them "win" by leaving, but it's really affecting my health.

@ AdSenseTracker: It's just starting...SU is becoming a cesspool with little moderation. Let's say the sacred word...eBay. (4 million users) + (cesspool) - (2 million users to Facebook) = WASTED 75 million bucks.
Does eBay allow customers to be SO rude in their STORE? It's time for Tyfus to go.

Hmmm. While I'm glad this was sorted out for you Marty, I'm not sure that inciting everyone to send this to "EVERY SU TROLL" is the right course of action here.
I dunno; I mean, I know that there is already animosity out there, but I hesitate to stir up more.
@Burgo: You could be right.
Fierce stuff Marty. I had quite a few negative reviews by SU users but just shrugged them off. One told me that I should 'get Aids and die'.
Emailed SU many times to report them but no one seems to care. The no. 1 thing I detest about StumbleUpon is how they don't seem to give a damn about their users by refusing to respond to genuine questions/feedback.
Congrats on making the right decision to contact the Feds Marty..Very wise decision..I am definitely going to Stumble and Sphinn.

I have to ask. How much traffic DID this get from stumbleupon?
I'm interested in figuring out if those few thumbsdown could weight against all those thumbs up.

I just received a death threat from an SU user in a review: Wraywolf: "I will kill you."
Personally I have never had a problem with Stumble, everyone seems nice enough, I think I have had two thumbs down in the years I have been there. I know some of the people of SU are saying that marketing people are coming over as fake and simply want what they can get. Whilst I don't think what happened to you was a nice experience I think throwing petrol on the fire is not the way to go if co-existence with the SU community is to continue.
Most of the time I think these trolls are just kids or mentally ill people seeking attention.

@ Lyndon: You don't make a big deal out of being a marketing person on your profile. It's there but not front and center. You're smart. When I joined SU it was to connect with my SEM friends so I made a point of being a marketer.
The trolls came out the first time I wrote a post about LOVING SU. Trolls hate marketers and attack unprovoked if you write any post loving SU where you talk about the marketing benifits. Before I picked a single troll fight I was brutally attacked for writing lovely things abou SU.
...and you're right...it's much better to let sleeping trolls lay.
He didn't "get me" banned. This guy is a liar, a hypocrite, and a shameless slef-promoter.
