One of the best productivity boosts I ever achieved was delete all the search marketing feeds in my rss reader.

I remember when my better half was delivering our 3rd child there back in March of last year and how excited I got when I found the Labour (maternity) suite had internet access. My better half wasn’t too chuffed with me. So, sorry No!

Sometimes I don’t read any of the blogs for two or three days in a row... while I’m at a search conference.Does that count?
I might need counselling first ... and then again after. Geeze ... quitting smoking would be easier. Ohhhh ... maybe hypnosis?
I can, but it is painful coming back to get caught up. I also feel like I doing myself and my clients a disservice by allowing myself to get far behind and possibly missing out on big marketing news.
I can stay away too, but then it really sucks trying to come back and catch up. The easiest solution I’ve found when it comes to catching up is to just mark everything in your reader as read and then instantly you’re all caught up.I used to think if I skipped anything I would be lost and then I realized that even when I am reading every feed I’m still skipping most of what’s out there. I also came to the conclusion that anything so important was going to be talked about beyond the day or two I wasn’t paying attention.
I can’t do it - UNLESS - I’m out on the local lake in my kayak.....As soon as I hit dry land it’s out with my wireless laptop......My Missus and I are going camping this year around the Carolina lakes - we’ve booked only sites with electric hook ups - I told her it was so we could watch a Movie at night in our tent......David
