Sphunn for the awesome toad at the top of this website! :D
Some of this adolescent tit for tat is just contrarian link bait, some of it is honesty and the rest is all about ego. And the SEM industry has no shortage of huge egos.
This is the best part of the whole article.
Before you publish such attacks on one another, have a little think about what a person new to the industry might think if reading such rubbish.
Bravo! Herbert - I made a comment on Kim Krause Berg's similar post that was identical to yours: what kind of impression must this make on those new to the industry?
My feeling is that if those with high visibility are setting this type of behaviour as an example, there is a potential there to breed a new generation of search marketers who think that nasty public bickering is part of the job description. Really, how much fun would that be?
Nice article.
I, for one, hope to portray a professional image in the work I do. It's a big part of clients having confidence to join with me for months of not-inexpensive retainer work on their business. To see frat-boy and girl type nonsense undermines being taken seriously. I'm just taking some comfort in the fact that they don't spend much time in the seo-social-circles.
I know it's off topic, but just wanted to say that I love the pictures of the staff on the right-hand sidebar. Makes me feel like there's real people behind it :)
@rand - probably a stock photo shot of office workers ;)
@rand and IncrediBILL No that's really us :)
As a former Brightonian - I can vouch for that picture of Rosie (Frogger) :D
As an other Brightonite they are real people... I think I need to get myself an arty photo for our blog, mines a camera phone special!
Not the first time, won't be the last time! I do think it's odd how Ben characterized Rand's comments as "hilarious" which IMHO is more appropo to "fueling" rather than "putting out" a fire. No sphinn from me, let it go guys and gals!
