Marios Alexandrou has a great post revealing some interesting patterns about Sphinn. A whole lotta work went into this post ... and it shows, hots by day of week, hour of day, how many sphinns necessary historically, and so much more.

What a great post!

Great research, Marios. The only thing that surprises me is Thursday as the top day. I would've guessed Monday, but maybe Monday is only the winner of most submits - not most submits that go hot.

Thanks Matt. A lot of what you get out of looking at data is intuitively known so it's particularly fun when something different than what you expected emerges. Jeff had a suggestion for an additional piece of information to examine so if you think of anything, let me know and I'll add it to my list.

I kick myself every time I submit on a Friday night, and watch it sink without trace over the weekend.

@g1smd This past weekend there were a bunch of comments and I think one submission that went hot about how the quality of posts on Sphinn degrades over the weekend. I'm not sure what the solution is, but I can see it getting bad enough that "real" users simply go away Friday night and return on Monday.
