Donna, I admire you. You sure do have some stamina, the way you’ve had them Louisiana lips of yours puckered so firmly to Google’s evil ass this long.

They’re in the wrong to make you (or anyone else for that matter) jump through hoops like that.

mvandemar, we’ve said for years that we are willing to take manual action on spam. I’ll ask someone to check out the support page you pointed out to see if it needs to be updated.

Matt, that’s true... you have. However, the stance that intelligent webmasters such as Donna must be completely incapable of performing their own editorial discretion (remember? that little thing that makes Yahoo’s paid links "ok"?) and therefore you must lump all links that are included in posts they do for compensation as "spam"? I hadn’t heard you come right out and say that before.I mean, yes, you have always people can get in trouble for indiscriminant linking... but now you are pretty much saying no one (not even smart people like Donna), in your opinion, can determine for themselves whether the link is deserved if they are paid for their time in doing the review. As far as I know Matt, that is new.

Another interesting point that a link from an unpaid post about a sponsor was considered paid. Surely that’s not the case, because the author was inspired by the product and, above else, spent his/her time on reviewing the product and "editorializing" the link.

This is a sphinn post type #2 BTW.The lesson you should be learning here is that Google does not want you monetiizing YOUR website. If you do, you get your knuckles (and your income) rapped.

@wheel - you need to amend that statement.Google DOES want you monetizing your site as long as it’s with AdSense, anything else could get your knuckles rapped.
