An excellent summary 3S, I come across UK agencies making most of these footprinted and old-school  mistakes everyday. In fact I was tempted not to Sphinn your story in case they found your blog and started fixing their tactics ;o)

Yet another step-by-step guide by SlightlyShadySEO.   Some of this stuff is available elsewhere in various places on the web, but I've never seen such a complete how-to so succintly put all in one place (like most of the stuff this guy writes).

What's really funny is when big SEO companies do email blasts for link buys, and end up telling a load of other webmasters (who may also be SEO's):

1. Who the big SEO company is
2. Who their clients are
3. Where the links they have already bought are.

Priceless.
