Blogging is a great Social Media activity. Guest writing is a way of getting your voice and opinion out on other Blogs and being heard by other readers. It is Social Media at its best. Guest blogging is great and can go both ways. You should be blogging on other websites as well as having guest bloggers on your own.
SEO is all about building authority (both for the blog and blogger persona), and guest blogging is a crucial means of doing so. This is SOOOOOO right for the Sphinn community for that reason, though I will say notoriously under represented here to date. Thanks for drawing more attention to it Glen!
Guest blogging is particularly valuable for new bloggers such as myself. It offers immediate access to a large audience and as Jeff pointed out builds authority. It should be part of every new bloggers traffic generation strategy.
