never say never, but i can't remember swearing on a blog and i don't see myself having to do so in the future.
Of course! And I allow swearing in comments.
I probably wouldn't carelessly swear like I do in generaly conversation but if it added to the impact of the article then I see no reason why not.
Just did a search on my content and discovered I dropped the F-bomb one time in nine years. Looks like I am on par with Danny Sullivan and Barry Schwartz... SEL F-bomb Search
FYI, I never used the f word on any of my posts. :)
@rustybrick: Oops. Let me clarify that your post on SEL is not your words but rather a journalistic view on "funky debugging comments" in relationship to YouTube. My apologies.
Yup ... maybe the ocassional light word for emphasis, but never the f-bomb or any perceived to be excessively strong. I even try to avoid strong non swear words like hate or detest, or words designed to exagerate like always, and constantly. Though ... I write in a more business speak type language.
Wish I had the talents of a SlightlyShady, Ruud Hein, theGypsy, Swags, etc ... to make paragraphs playful and fun.
While I would never swear in a post, I have used f__k (with underscores instead of the letters 'uc'). It all depends on the voice and audience of your blog. Clearly it's out of line for a purely business audience. But for a more casual audience I don't see a problem.
Up until yesterday I'd never sworn on my blog. Just woken up with a bit of a hangover and see I did it twice last night. Oops! Must install breathaliser on my PC...
and people wonder where the industry gets a bad rap. I think it's just unprofessional... call me a prude.
WTF.... I shouldn't swear... they have all the best emphatics
I don't swear in my newsletter, but do occasionally on my forum. Two different target audiences there (with some overlap of course).
