According to a recent Editor & Publisher article, putting the same keywords in your meta tags 500 times is a way to garner additional search traffic.

Arrgh! That 500 times quote is from a guy whose firm's tag line is, "Tomorrow's Media, Understood Today".

Ha ha. The offending '500 times' quote seems to have been removed from the original article. Someone must've got their wrists slapped.

Great find Nick.  I've updated my post to reflect this.  I'm glad to see they were pro-active and removed the bad information.  I just hope there weren't to many that have already read the original and been affected.
