Is a fantastic tool, you beat me to it :)
Thanks Patrick, I have an in-house tool, but I'm giving this one a spin around the block.
Great tool - I'm impressed.
stumbled it, bookmarked it, blogged about it, etc... Kudos to the developer!
Very pretty.
I have been running some tests on it and I really like the information it provides. I have experienced a few errors, which is to be expected, and I assume they will get straightened out. All in all I like what I see from it so far.
I can't get it to work. I get an error message. :(
@aimclear I expect this is being hit pretty hard today by SEO analysing their millions of links.
Yeah Patrick, I think that is probably the case because I have been able to run a few reports but I am getting bombarded with errors too. Another issue that I am seeing is that when I am able to run a report it asks me to download the Firefox extension to get the full report even though I have already downloaded and installed it. I have actually done this multiple times. If it completed a report it asks me to install it. When I do it either errors out and does not finish the report or shows me the detailed information. If I try to follow that up with another report I get the same message asking me to install the extansion again (if the report completes). I sent in a bug report and I will wait to see if this stuff gets cleaned up. I think it has a lot of potential if these issues get fixed.
Even with the plugin installed I dont get the PR or any useful data like it says I should
+LD is working fine for me so far. nice tool. thanks!
Hey,
Its Janusz here - the developer of the tool. Thanks guys for all the good and bad feedback. The tool is still in beta and I am working on fixing bugs. I knew about some of the bugs but wasn't sure if the tool will be useful. After Patrick's guest post it seems now that people like it and I will try to fix the bugs and improve the tool. In the meantime, sorry about the errors and please do let me know if you find a bug - like Mark from searchenginepeople did.
@aimchair - would you mind sending me the error message you got? thanks a lot.
@all - there is a limit of 5000 calls to yahoo per day per user(IP)- that should roughly be around 50 reports per user per day with the current setup, so there must be some bug there. will look into it.
It looks to be an error in IE7. The page gives an abortion error.
When I was a developer I ran into this problem with IE when I had a page that called a google map (javascript) and the google map finished loading before the entire html of the page loaded. I actually had to put a delay on the call to google maps to make sure it wouldn't load before the page finished rendering - if that helps you any...
I smell a paid service in the works...
It is working fine for me. BTY, "aimClear" not "armChair"...LOL Great tool.
@aimClear: sorry mate about the misspelling (but it made me laugh from myself now :) glad to hear its working now.
I tried it in IE 7 and the chart float above the text. I went to the latets FF and downloaded the toolbar and the charts do not come up. Ran three links and on the third got an error message that I can not reproduce From what I saw the tool was alright.
It is a great tool Patrick, thanks for sharing. Can you explain the pie chart categories? - thx.
@bnownlater > was it the FF 3 beta? I need to put some FAQ that it still does not work with the latest 3.x betas. About the floating stuff - yeah need to fix that as well. Its damn difficult to fix all these client script errors but I am getting there :)
@debra - you get an explanation via tooltip while hovering through the link type column on the backlink section (I need to find a way how to display explanation over the charts as well).
Wow I heart this tool. Thanks!
I have experience similar errors - continually being asked to download the plugin. Overall a very impressive tool and very much an eye opener when doing competitor analysis.
Stumbled, dugg, blogged...awesome tool
